For Immediate Release

Kuala Lumpur, March 12, 2026 –  Upholding its principle of "Always With You", Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn. Bhd. continues its social commitment this Ramadan through ongoing efforts focused on community wellbeing under the Cahaya Ramadan 2026 Programme.

The Cahaya Ramadan Programme is now entering its sixth year of implementation. From 2021 to 2026, a total of 138,500 loaves of bread have been successfully distributed through active community engagement. From that figure, 30,000 loaves of Gardenia Original Classic were distributed to 20 selected mosques across Peninsular Malaysia this year, each complete with a special limited-edition Raya envelope for every congregant, making their Ramadan experience more meaningful and special.

In the spirit of Ramadan, which upholds the values of compassion and togetherness, the Cahaya Ramadan Programme: A Day with Gardenia was implemented through a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), aimed at assisting those in need and ensuring aid is channelled accurately and effectively. This programme is more than just a donation, it is a manifestation of support and empathy from Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn. Bhd., which allocated RM25,000 to 50 participating families to choose and fulfil their own Hari Raya needs according to their preferences, making their Aidilfitri preparations this year more meaningful and joyful.

This one-day programme took place on 11 March 2026 at Mydin Subang Jaya, where each underprivileged family was accompanied by volunteers to ensure a more comfortable, orderly, and friendly shopping experience. Upon completing their shopping, the families were honoured at the Cahaya Ramadan Breaking of Fast Programme at ISTAC IIUM, after which Gardenia presented Raya monetary gifts as a token of appreciation to brighten the festive spirit ahead of Syawal.

Speaking about the programme, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Dato' Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri said, "This is truly the kind of compassion we hope to see from more corporations in this country, to work hand in hand with the government in ensuring the wellbeing of the community is always safeguarded."

Meanwhile, Puan Ena Suhaila Abas, Senior Marketing Manager of Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn. Bhd. said, "At Gardenia, the spirit of giving is not seasonal, it is our ongoing approach to contributing to community wellbeing through comprehensive social and community welfare initiatives. We hope this contribution can ease the burden, create meaningful moments, and unite the community in the spirit of love and gratitude."

Through this initiative, Gardenia is committed to delivering practical and high-impact benefits to the community, in line with the company's corporate social responsibility aspirations. This programme also strengthens the values of togetherness that are at the heart of Ramadan, while ensuring every good deed is enjoyed by those in need and brings a ray of blessings in every act of kindness.
