From executive luncheons and business dialogues to strategic partnerships, the Malaysia Chapter is building a community where meaningful connections can lead to real opportunities

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 August 2026 — Joining a new executive community can raise an important question for business leaders: Will the connections create value?

For Asia CEO Community Malaysia, the answer is demonstrated through its track record. Over the past three years, the Malaysia Chapter has brought together business leaders, educators, industry stakeholders and decision-makers through executive gatherings, strategic dialogues and institutional partnerships.

From Business Advantage to Strategic Thinking

In 2024, Asia CEO Community Malaysia hosted "Tap into ESG Strategy as Business Advantage" with Taylor's College, bringing together business and education stakeholders to examine how sustainability related strategies were increasingly becoming part of corporate competitiveness and business decision making.

Rather than approaching ESG simply as a compliance topic, the discussion explored how businesses could consider sustainability as a potential source of business advantage, innovation, reputation and long-term value.

The event demonstrated the Chapter's approach to executive engagement: bringing leaders together around issues that affect how businesses operate and compete, while creating opportunities for participants to exchange perspectives beyond their own industries.

Building the Malaysia Chapter Community

The Malaysia (KL) Chapter Luncheon 2024 provided a more intimate setting for members and business leaders to connect, exchange experiences and strengthen relationships. Executive communities are often built through these smaller interactions.

A luncheon creates the opportunity for leaders to move beyond formal introductions and engage in more direct conversations about businesses, markets, challenges and opportunities.

For Asia CEO Community Malaysia Chapter, such gatherings are an important part of creating the trust and familiarity that underpin stronger long-term relationships. The objective is not simply to introduce members. It is to help them know one another well enough to create meaningful connections.

From Connections to Institutional Partnerships

In 2025, Asia CEO Community Malaysia took another step forward through an MOU Signing with the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) under the theme "Business in ASIA." The initiative highlighted the importance of connecting businesses and business leaders with broader regional opportunities.

The partnership reflected Asia CEO Community's wider ambition to create platforms where executives can gain exposure to new markets, industries and potential collaborators. For members, institutional relationships such as these can strengthen the ecosystem around the community by creating additional avenues for business engagement, knowledge exchange and regional connectivity.

Creating Dialogue with Industry Decision-Makers

Another significant engagement was the MOU Signing with MATRADE, accompanied by "A Dialogue with YBrs. En Abu Bakar Yusof." The engagement brought the executive community closer to Malaysia's trade and export ecosystem and created an opportunity for business leaders to gain perspectives on internationalisation and market opportunities.

For companies looking beyond Malaysia, access to relevant institutions and decision makers can be particularly valuable. It demonstrates an important aspect of Asia CEO Community Malaysia's role: creating bridges between business leaders and the wider organisations, institutions and ecosystems that support regional growth.

It is an opportunity to become part of a growing executive community and to discover who you could meet, what you could learn and what you could build together. Asia CEO Community is going to host the Gala Dinner 2026 in Malaysia. This will be the Malaysia Chapter's signature gathering of the year, bringing together CEOs, founders, investors, senior executives and business leaders on Friday, 18 September 2026, at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur

For existing members, it provides an opportunity to reconnect and expand their networks. For those discovering Asia CEO Community for the first time, it offers an opportunity to experience the community and meet leaders from different industries and markets. Most importantly, the objective is to create beneficial connections that can continue long after the dinner ends.

Dato' Vimmy Yap, Malaysia Chapter President of Asia CEO Community said:

"Asia CEO Community exists to connect leaders, foster meaningful collaborations and create lasting impact. Our past activities have shown that when the right leaders come together, conversations can develop into relationships, and relationships can create opportunities.”

Gary Lam, Founder and Global President of Asia CEO Community said:

“The strength of Asia CEO Community has always been the ability to bring the right leaders together across borders. Malaysia, as our second-largest chapter globally, plays an important role in connecting the region. The Gala Dinner is not simply a celebration of our community; it is an opportunity to create new relationships, strengthen existing ones and open doors for meaningful collaboration across Asia.”
