MECANMED and MECANVET Support PAWS with PHP 30,000 Donation for Rescued Animals

MANILA, Philippines - MECANMED and its veterinary equipment division, MECANVET, have donated PHP 30,000 in cash and essential shelter supplies to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) to support rescued animals and daily shelter needs at the PAWS Animal Rehabilitation Center in Quezon City.

PAWS is a registered non-profit organization in the Philippines dedicated to the protection and promotion of humane treatment of animals. The donation was formally handed over on August 6, 2026, during a visit by members of MECANMED's Philippine team.

Practical support for daily shelter needs

The PHP 30,000 contribution consisted of PHP 15,000 in cash and PHP 15,000 worth of shelter supplies. The donated items were selected to address several practical day-to-day needs at the shelter, including:

• Animal nutrition: dry and canned food for dogs and cats.

• Shelter cleaning and sanitation: commercial bleach, laundry detergent, alcohol and heavy-duty disposal bags.

• Pet care supplies: training pads and protective diapers.

Learning from PAWS' animal welfare work

During the visit, the MECANMED team toured the shelter and joined an educational briefing led by PAWS staff on the care and rehabilitation of rescued dogs and cats.

A PAWS representative thanked MECANMED and MECANVET for the contribution and encouraged more companies to support animal welfare organizations through responsible community initiatives.
