As we approach 2024, influencer marketing continues to be a powerful marketing strategy used by brands. Over time, influencer marketing trends have improved with significant shifts and innovations. 

These trends will not only affect influencers, but also brands and customers. Therefore, brands need to understand the future of influencer trends in 2024.  

Top Influencer Marketing Trends in 2024 

Let's explore the top influencer marketing trends you can't miss in 2024. 

1. Long-term Collaborations 

In order to gain more trust, many brands are starting long-term collaborations with influencers. In this way, an influencer will consistently promote only 1 brand in 1 space. 

However, the influencers can still collaborate with other brands in different areas as long as it is not a competitor of a brand they promoted first. 

For example, Amy, a beauty influencer, routinely promotes skincare from brand A. She also promotes food and gadgets from other brands. But she cannot work with other skincare brands.     

2. Use of AI 

Since its emergence, artificial intelligence (AI) has helped many people in their work, including influencers, mainly in content planning and copywriting. Meanwhile, on the brands' side, AI helps them to create briefs and content ideas.  

However, remember not to rely too much on AI because it is artificial. As such, you may lose your authenticity and lose touch with what your audience really values. Also, AI is not perfect, so it may mislead the audience or even cause trust issues. Therefore, you still need to review and modify the results of AI. 

3. TikTok Shop

TikTok has influenced social media trends since its inception. Since discovering TikTok, social media users have shifted their interest from design or photo content to video content. In addition, TikTok allows users to purchase online products on their platform.  

Based on data from Insider Intelligence, TikTok Shop is estimated to have 33.3 million US shoppers by the end of 2023. As such, brands will continue to use TikTok Shop to increase their sales and ROI.  

4. Affiliate Marketing 

Astute Analytica has predicted that the affiliate marketing industry will reach $36.90 billion by 2030. 

With Amazon, Klook, and Teachable becoming top affiliate marketing sites, affiliate programs will still be at their peak in 2024. Affiliate marketing has been proven to increase social proof and deliver satisfying results for both brands and influencers.         

5. Influencers Become Business Owners

After many collaborations with brands, there are many influencers who have become business owners. They are using their influence to build their own businesses. 

Instead of being afraid of competition, existing brands can consider partnering with influencers' brands. The most common way is to do a giveaway. 

In addition, both brands can complement each other. For example, an existing clothing brand can work with an influencer's brand that sells jewelry to create a package of clothing and jewelry. That way, customers don't have to go to the trouble of combining the clothing and jewelry they buy separately. 

There is no doubt that we will see these influencer marketing trends grow rapidly in 2024. Start capitalizing on these marketing trends to make more profits in the coming year.
