UNSW Sydney has launched its first Enterprise Data Strategy, marking an important step in building a more connected and data-enabled University.

The strategy will strengthen UNSW's ability to bring together data and insight across disciplines, systems and areas of the University, revealing new relationships and opening new opportunities across education, research and innovation.

UNSW Chief Data Officer Surabhi Jain said: “Extraordinary things happen at UNSW every day, and data underpins so much of that work. Our first Enterprise Data Strategy is about making trusted data easier to find, connect and reuse, so our people can make better decisions, accelerate discovery and create new possibilities through analytics and responsible AI.”

UNSW's Enterprise Data Office brings together dedicated enterprise leadership and capability across data, analytics and insights. The strategy will create opportunities to better understand the student journey, enable new approaches to research and discovery, strengthen strategic decision-making and and scale successful data and analytics solutions across the University.

The Enterprise Data Strategy is a critical enabler of UNSW's Progress for All strategy, strengthening the University's ability to use data, analytics and AI responsibly to accelerate innovation in education, advance world-leading research and create greater impact within and beyond the University.

The UNSW Enterprise Data Strategy 2026–2028 is available here.
